Hello, my name is Andrea H. I live in Las Vegas, NV and this is my new blog. I am hoping to use this as a way to get information for something that I have been thinking about doing for a few months now. Let me explain in greater detail for you.
I am a firm believer in personal growth. I think that in order to grow as a person, there are certain life lessons that you have to learn. My mother, who will have passed away 11 years ago this coming Sunday, knew this and tried to teach me all the lessons she thought I should know before she was no longer with us, but I was too young and a little stupid(yes, I am admitting to stupidity) to understand that she was trying to fill me with her knowledge.
Now that I am a little older, and I can look back at what she was trying to do, I can see those lessons coming out of her mouth. I realized another important part of the process, in that as much as people can tell you things you should know, you cannot learn the lessons until you make mistakes. Some people make the same mistakes over and over, but that just means it takes them a little longer to learn a certain lesson.
I began thinking a few months ago about just how many life lessons I knew. I also thought about which ones were the most important to me, and which ones I wanted my children to most learn(of course I want them to learn them all). Then I began thinking about other people, and which lessons they have learned, and which they feel are most important and why.
This is when I got my brilliant idea. Why not find out what other people think, and compile that into a book. Perhaps I haven't learned every lesson there is, and I am missing something. Maybe certain lessons are more important in other parts of the country. Perhaps people are more alike in their values and beliefs than people think they are.
So this is the start of a journey, something that I have wanted to do(write a book) for a very long time. This is also where I need everyone's help. I need people to share this blog, I need people to write to me to tell me their life lessons and most of all I need feedback as I try and discuss the different lessons people present to me. So, as much work as I expect to put into this, I hope to get much more out of it, and I want to bring whoever wants to come, along on my journey.
Until next time.
Andrea
